I love Molly Harper’s Half Moon Hollow and Jane Jameson. Of course, Jane isn't the main focus of the volume. That would be our young werewolf woman, Tylene McLaine. Ty doesn't fit into her pack. She desperately wants peace, quiet, and privacy. She is tired of being bossed around by her parents and aunts. She is over being forced to go on dates she doesn't want with men she doesn't care about. Her wishes about anything get ignored by her family. She just wants to be listened to.
That is, until she meets an attractive vampire, Alex, at the library. She is excited when she takes her cousin's kids to music lessons and discovers that the music school is his. They agree to meet at Jane's book shop. Jane being Jane, Ty is soon absorbed into the circle of friends-who-are-family.
Can Ty stand up for herself? Can she leave the family compound and start her own life? Can she and Alex make their cross species love affair work? I couldn't help but feel for Ty—who could put up with being told how to live their life? Sometimes the people who should love us don't recognize what actual love looks like. That doesn't leave many options to the controlled person. Leaving your family behind is hard, but it can be done.
A feel-good story told by one of my favourite authors.
